Every year, BMW holds Ultimate Drive
events across the country to raise money to help find a cure for Breast Cancer.
They partner with the
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
and use two fleets of new BMWs that tour from dealership to dealership across the
country. At each stop the cars are available for test drives on a fixed route. The public
is invited to drive the cars on a mapped course and for every mile driven $1.00 is donated
to help find a cure for breast cancer in support of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
The money is used for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.
This year is the eleventh anniversary and the Komen Foundation is looking to raise enough
money to push them over the $10 Million mark. It's a fun way to drive the new 2008 models
and help a great cause!
- The next Ultimate Drive is
- Monday September 22nd, 2008 - 10:00am
- At Tulley BMW in Nashua, NH (directions)
- Questions? Contact (603) 647-4944 Ext. 1.
- Cost: Free Registration opens 08/12/08
In addition, you can help support the cause by purchasing merchandise from the BMW Pink
Ribbon Collection and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Komen Foundation. The
items are available for purchase at the event and all year round
online.
Each year the White Mountain Chapter helps by not only participating in the test drives
but in shuttling the cars, at the end of the day, from BMW of Stratham to Tully BMW
(and sometimes helping transport from Tully BMW, to the next dealer).
As in the test driving, this transporting generates $1.00 per mile and
in the past this has raised over $900 for breast cancer. It's a great way to get some
extended time driving the latest models. If you are interested in transporting or would
like to help out the day of the event, please contact
Dana Sion.
For 2008, the cars include:
